Isobel's playground of abstract form and composition intentionally mimics nature's creativity in the biome with constant response and transformation indicating the vibrancy of life on the edge. Cyanotype is a primitive photographic process that involves arranging items on photosensitive paper or cloth and exposing them to the sun. The cyan color registers the effect of the light, as it simplifies shapes and records shadows when the sunlight interacts with the objects. Watercolor and pen strokes add another element to the compositions of light and form. The representations become transcendent impressions, creating space for a poetic essence and pushing beyond the literal forms represented. Click on images to enlarge them.
